The Amarnath Yatra will commence on June 28th and will go on till August 21st. The Sri Amarnath Yatra 2013 duration would span for 45 days this year.
During this time the Shivlinga is made of melted ice in the cave which attains its complete form on full moon. On the side of the lingam, two more ice stalagmites are formed representing Parvati and Ganesha. The route to the yatra is one of the toughest and cannot be carried out by the faint hearted. A proper medical checkup is needed and only the people who are fit are allowed to take the journey.
It requires some rules and regulations for entry to the cave and the worship of the Holy Trinity is a speedy affair, as there arenumber of devotees who visit this place.
